It is good to hear about freedom,
But who in reality is a free man,
And even if he is,
How free he is?
Freedom of speech, freedom of expression,
If this be, why do we suppress
And curtail the speeches,
Why is the Press restricted?
Freedom,
What do you mean by it
And who in reality is a free man,
Free to speak, free to express
But only internally?
Freedom,
We have learnt it in books,
But who is actually free,
Do we ever give freedom,
Freedom to enjoy?
Freedom is a chimera,
Freedom is a dream,
A long-cherished dream of ours. |
