on which the Sun has chosen to set.
I don’t share the pride of many
who fondly believe that India has won
through your election
because you happen to share
their faith and common heritage.
Your forefathers were from my subcontinent - yes
you share the faith I was born in - yes
and you swore by its holy book - yes,
but that doesn’t impress.
Impress us now
