Why are the women tortured
Wings clipped, inhumanly featured
Under a religious order flipped
In several countries
Still at the end of so many centuries
When humans claim to be civilised?
Do others accept it as in order!
Buying woman like making a piece of furniture
To serve him until sold or dehumanised!
Was there behind the order at all any voice?
A devil’s voice or a rogue’s choice!
How long would it take to leave it behind
Or die before living resigned!
The story about women may be traced
Back and forth, past and present
And to the future it may be stretched.
In the great Mahabharata we read
Only Draupadi was used among all others as pawn
Weakest among the great brothers she was drawn
Even now she’s the prestigious showpiece
A titular head made by the greats, without power.

Or strong-eats-weak in modern scientific stride
Evil is always rife.
Women had to and still forbear it;
Either lustful thrust or heist
Or neglect and misogynist threat
In a society primitive, capitalist or socialist.
Call them weaker or fair sex until they lash back
Inherently weaker in using ligature
Men should amend or wait for setback.
