Dream

I asked her once,

"What is your dream?

What brings stars to your eyes

And makes your heart grow wings

As if it might one day

Take off and fly?"

With a longing sigh,

Came her reply:

"To sit by the sea

And watch the sun set in a wispy sky

With the clouds floating blissfully by."

(This is for my mother who loves the sea. She's finally moved into a sea-view bungalow and I'm happy for her.)
