Recluse

It looks scary to me

Every day when I open 

And read 

The Newspaper or Mobile

Or surf the net.

The news and messages 

Are invariably disturbing.

Why should I be disturbed

At the dusk of my life?

But

How can anyone turn 

A blind eye to the violence

Greed and lawless activities

Scant regard for honesty

Derisive comments on sincerity?

Loyalty is termed as stupidity.

Love is transformed into lust,

Looking and aspiring for

Only power and pelf.

Ageing itself is a curse

And a bigger sin in this mess.

It is good to live as a recluse,

Instead of living in such an abyss.
