Rakhi Day

I had been sad,

Feeling lonesome and broken

Being without my youngest brother

And none in the house,

But while going for a casual drive

Towards the bushy ways

Traversing the sparsely scattered hamlets,

I saw a bevy of small poor hamlet girls

Waiting by the footpath

Drawing my attention, intercepting me to stop,

I slowed down my white Ambassador car

To halt it,

And they came, proceeded to tie

Their Rakhis on my wrist

Bringing unexpected infinite joys from the Divine

Catching me by surprise

Forcing me to look heavenwards for His Bounty received

With the thanksgiving:

Thank God, You made it happen!
