My grandfather had a sprawling bungalow amid fruit-bearing
Trees and plants blooming with flowers. It was exciting
To walk under the shadows of trees whenever sun’s rays were penetrating
Through the gaps between leaves of trees and leaves falling
In the wind and us walking on the dry leaves, generating rustling.
It sounds pleasant to have seen many species of birds flying
From the branches of the trees, and some others chirping,
And to have seen the process of watering by four persons participating
In this activity. Every morning, I would watch three persons engaged in drawing
Water from the well to be channelled to the cluster of trees and plants receiving
The required amount of water, then they would be feeling
Happy to leave the place by tapping and touching
The trees and plants. Alas, today, nature has been replaced by buildings
With no sight of the sun’s rays peeping
Through the trees existing with me, left lamenting. |
