One morning, I was sitting in the veranda having coffee while reading
The newspaper. Suddenly, I heard a group of crows cawing
And a few squirrels screeching, and some birds chirping.
My neighbour’s dog was barking.
I stood and started looking around the garden, noticed a monkey was sitting
On our compound wall. The monkey seemed to be wondering
Why these creatures were creating
Havoc when he was not disturbing
Anyone, and not plucking fruits from the trees, though it was tempting.
The monkey must have felt that his ancestor was destroying
A beautiful garden because the wicked ten-headed king
Was harassing the holy mother. His ancestor started spreading
Fear among the people who were living
There. Then the monkey must have thought these creatures were requiring
Proper guidance in treating guests like him. It left our compound, hoping
To get a proper welcome from human beings. |
