This little world that I call mine, May bloom in peace, in grace divine; This is my humble, heartfelt prayer— Let streams of mercy flow with care. Each day I look, each day I pray, Each day Your praises I convey; In trials harsh and moments grim, Your strength has kept my spirit firm. I fell, I rose, yet stood again— Whenever I invoked Your name; My fragile boat reached safely far Whenever You became the oar. By Your great power I stand strong, You are my guide my whole life long; To whom shall I my plea impart, When You alone sustain my heart? On paths of struggle, shade and sun, In silent thought to You I turn; With joyful mind and aching core, Both kind and stern in You I saw. No other refuge do I see— Forever keep me close to Thee; Whenever burdens weigh me down, Please lift the load before I drown. In every state, O Lord so kind, Protect the honour that is mine; Stretch forth Your hand in love’s decree, And raise my humble dignity.
