Twentyfirst Century Love

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
You rang me up and
I got up everyday.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
You dragged me to the deep ocean of love
there I couldn't realize vanity of your craziness.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
You dragged me in to the darkness of love
there we experienced the mysterious divine beauty of sex.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
I never forced you to sacrifice your virginity for me
But we experienced many times the sweat of loyalty and trust,
there nothing left unshared between us.

When you kissed me
You tasted my tears and heard my fast ever heart beats.
You held me tightly...running your fingers through my hair.
Those eased my fear of losing you.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
I began to see you everywhere
I delighted with the modesty of love and care from you.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
I began learning news paths of life
I began forgetting the days of extinction and loneliness.

I found strength in me
When you made promises eternity of our love.
You kept smiling and said
My life is only for you.

A day came in and you walked away saying-
My yesterdays were for you.
My tomorrows are for me
And I learnt to be a matured woman now.

I was stunned to be in the darkness still.
I gave you all that I could give
You left without a backward glance of mutual trust.
My heart was broken to the deep ocean.

You asked me 'was I a prostitute'?
Hey lord, what answer I should have given?
You would never know how much that question would have broken my soul.
I said, you are worst than prostitutes
as they keep their promises for what they paid for.

You called me Mad,
blemished for pestering the limpidness of your mind finding excuses.
In return for the eternal love I trusted in.
I lost my strength by spoiling my belief-
in humanity and the only life a man can ever have.

I still smiled and said
Pardon me for my candor, you are the 21st century woman.
Not to be shamed of giving up to another man
Lying in true stories left untold.
