Portals, doors and windows that won’t open
Books from which we learn
Pages that won’t turn
Unwritten lyrics, half-finished manuscripts
Monographs that deal with riddles;
Verses that resonate, stanzas that challenge,
Words that tantalise, paragraphs that tease
Articles that meander, headlines that beguile.
Scribes that avoid truth, poets who suffer in silence,
Musicians that borrow, steal or pay homage;
Listeners listen, readers peruse,
Taking in ideas, transfixed
Over the airwaves and the printed word,
Once the oiled wheels roar back into action.
One blends into two, two become four
The completion of a journey round a sacred fire
With witnesses, pictorial records and signatures.
The answers we seek, the closures we need
Can be found, anywhere and everywhere,
It is here and beyond yonder,
In the rich tapestry
Of our sense of earthly wonder.
Our core values and moral imperatives;
Thirst for knowledge and quest for the truth.
Eureka!
