Theme: Mankind

Today

Human history being written by those
heartless hearts, inflated egos
whose glee over countless corpses
surpasses Satan’s malevolent bashes.

Eighty years since the last War,
Japanese today too mourn, doors ajar.
Eighty more wars waged since,
millions more murdered, forgotten star.

Dehumanized man shamelessly mocks
those who champion moral docks.
Survival of the fittest’, the edict rules,
compassion in the locker, hatred fuels.

None craves to reach heights
Excellence, in fear, itself hides
Villainy grabs power, goodness bides
Better creep into the caves, wisdom chides.
