the body seeks sleep. Despite the fatigue, eyes closing,
the post-midnight mind awakens, searches
bits of personal history, buried some place, deep down.

Resurface, detritus afloat
in
the choppy sea of Time.
Mind chases. Locates the dead and the
living
in the mazes that enfold on each other,
some stretch out, dusty corridors
full of cobwebs.
Old faces resurface, submerged events
fresh smile of a babe
waking up on a sunny morning in an Athenian household
the mazes of memory, asymmetrical. Retro vision
wakes up things, obscured by the fog. Voices, lost.
