Theme: Perspective

Reality

We are alive
only
when the Life within
is in motion
by the unrecited
universal mantra
of inhalation and exhalation
occurring without volition
causing commotion.

I wonder why
we are coerced to learn
and deceive ourselves
with talks
about achieving
the most unscientific
and absurd concept
called peace
which is but
another name of death.

It is time to unlearn
and live by accepting
and celebrating
the reality of Life.

Comments on this Poem

Comment Life within is truly caused by the unsung process of inhalation and exhalation, so vital and so misunderstood. Breathing in and breathing out are not merely a biological activity, but a profoundly spiritual exchange every second of our life with the Life Force out there and everywhere .

Comment Profound poem, Rajender ji. Your vision of life as perpetual motion of breath echoes the Gita’s insight that change is the only constant and that we own only our effort, not the outcome. By rejecting static “peace” and celebrating dynamic, restless living, the poem invites us to accept reality without illusion and still engage with it in full awareness and gratitude.

Comment Your concept of 'Reality' is embedded in self-realization that always starts with the breath; the portal between the external and internal reality of existence. A universal sigh!

Comment Three cheers for the poet!! Unfortunately, the humanity is always stuck with a deep sense of ' in-completeness' and hence always so much noise within. Secondly, our ever inflated ego stands our way , to value and appreciate the Priceless gift of Life ... As it is.

Comment Rajender Krishan ji has given a novel perspective on life. While everyone talks of achieving peace, he says that commotion is life, restlessness is life and that peace is like death itself. The poem is thought provoking; it invites dialogue.

Comment The poem presents life as movement and breath, making a powerful connection between existence and the involuntary rhythm of inhalation and exhalation.
Its rejection of “peace” as an artificial ideal is provocative, though the equation of peace with death is deliberately paradoxical and may invite debate.
The closing call to unlearn, accept, and celebrate life gives the poem a strong philosophical and existential resonance.
