Invisible Absence

The past slipped in

on the strains 

of ‘I will be right there

waiting for you’

and like indelible ink

happy moments

shared smiles

sparkling eyes

infectious laughter

embellished the 

parchment of recall

risen ghost-like from  

secret chambers

I didn’t know existed.
