Death of Common Sense1.jpg
Our dear old friend is now no more
He died in pain I hear
No one knows how old he was
But to our hearts was dear

He lived by simple policies
Spent less than what he earned
Followed reliable strategies
His fingers hardly burned

He taught us lessons valuable
Life’s isn’t always fair
The early bird gets the worm
To teach us he was there

His health deteriorated rapidly
As regulations came in place
Well intentioned but overbearing
Those made him lose his face

A six year lad is charged for
Kissing a classmate
A teacher fined for reprimanding
A student who walked in late

He further lost the will to live
When criminals were granted rights
And religions furthered businesses
All within his sights

His death was preceded by his son
His parents, daughter, wife
Responsibility, Discretion, Trust and Truth
So dear in his life

Not many were at his funeral
And none will miss him hence
Few realize he is gone
His name was Common Sense
