Walking on Words

  An unfeasible bridge in sky,
a castle in the air, and
pillars of words
entice us
to walk, cross over
to the other side.

Soothing words, teasing words,
words of empathy, words
of praise -
words sounding intimate
to our curious minds.

Your words carry confidence -
mine depend
on emotional reticence.
Our words acknowledge
the imperceptible.
We take an almost impulsive leap '

a step on a bridge too far.
