Cain may well have thought maybe
With Abel out of the way
He could rule generations
Be the master of all and stay

Others too in history
Followed in this vein
Attila, Genghis, Napoleon
The last was Hitler’s pain

Love of power is perhaps
A stronger motive than fear
To pursue irrational policies
And be the premier

Great nations led to ruin
By the unwillingness to admit
That power is not the sole preserve
Of any one outfit

Utter folly it is then
From the narrowest point view
To spread death and misery
On the whims of just a few

It is in the hearts of men
These wars must be fought
It is by enlightening them
The cure must be sought
