  Septuagenarians & octogenarians aplenty
No one's glass is empty.
There is enough food and wine
For all in style to dine
The party is in full swing
Everyone is having a real fling
No semblance of fatigue or fear
An ambience of camaraderie and good cheer
No sons and daughters to fret and fume
No grandchildren to complain about
There is no mention of pain only pleasure
To be shared with each other in full measure
Is a time to celebrate and not to debate
About the future which they await
It is New Year's Eve at the Golden Fern
The Senior Citizens' preferred Tavern.
