The Grand Plan

A darkened room on this cold winter day.
I look at the window, so bright and clear.
The tiniest of glimmer that I barely begin to see
a speck of water turning into a crystal of ice.
Uncommitted, undetermined, sans any goal it seems
as it hangs about while more friends arrive.

Ordinary, ugly, tiny blobs of frozen moisture
with no plans in mind but everything falling into place
just as nature ordained it; they simply comply.
Time passes by and suddenly I realize!
Meaningless blobs of ice I see no more
my eyes widen in wonderment as I wake up to the beautiful snowflake !
