Treacherous Path

I looked at the dark sky
thunder rumbled and lightning flashed
with no place to hide around
I pulled out my umbrella of faith.

Wind grew more intense and fierce
and stripped my belongings away
I stood still holding the umbrella
in the thick rain of ashes and acid.

Glass of my broken dreams
cut my feet and my heart bled away
I trampled upon what once was
my plan, ambition, goal and love.

What was once my desire
lay down broken waiting to be crushed
my eyes pained as I saw them scream
and cry for help, but I was far from reach.

They were all over the place
wailing and crying out to me.
The rains melted them away
and their screams died away in the gutter.

I looked ahead as mountains crumbled
and new paths get chopped from them
Unaware of what's beyond scared my feet,
the rains grew strong and started flooding

With nothing to look back now
I walked ahead towards the new path
unsure, un-thought of, unseen, unheard
I walk on the new path with prayers.
