  We are in school
I, my sister and brother
We speak our language
And find the language in school
Pretty queer

We are in school
My sister, brother and I
We speak our language
Our school mates find us
Pretty queer

We are in school
I, my sister and brother
Each in our respective classroom
Our teacher walks in
Our classmates stand up in reverence
In a chorus voice
Good morning teacher

This is novel to us
Back in our village
We greet differently

Our teacher
Begins to interact with us
We are unable to respond appropriately
Our teacher notices
We need special attention

Our question is
Why isn't our language used
Why isn't content in our textbook familiar
We speak our language
And find the language in school
Pretty queer
