The Sum of Things

It is at any time only
the present.

Everything you perceive
that spreads out in your lifting sense
to the detail of things
present,
in the prospect, and
in retrospect.

Mostly the prospect,
for that is the present's projection,
the how it is that will be:
the whole world as easy
as it stands.

Who can weigh a thought,
the sum of things,
the weight of which is naught?
