The Little Black Book

She maintained it carefully
Every entry documented
Very systematically
No one could have faulted her

She hid it away carefully
From the many prying eyes
That surrounded her, so that
No one could have ever found it

For fifteen long years
She had recorded all her fears
Of the monsters she lived with
In the book they remained concealed

Finally she planned it carefully
Her exit from this world
The day when the damning contents
Of the book would be revealed

Her morning tea she had laced
With an elixir that would separate
Her from all her earthly fears and
Take her to another better world

The family expressed as expected
The usual grief and shock
But soon after investigators entered
Her dark secrets were uncovered

She had left clear instructions
for them as to the precise location
Of the important little black book
It was her form of return revenge

The husband and the in-laws
When taken in for questioning
Denied the contents of the book
And dubbed her as being insane

Of course their interrogators were
Experienced in handling such cases
Conclusion - she was victimised
As she could not produce a son!!!
