(for Mother Teresa)

You will forever sit beside me
In the dark shadow of a forgotten place
To return the sun to its origins
To hesitate the wind before the dawn,

You will await the arrival of spring
When birds frolic in the branches
And flowering trees spread fragrance
You will wait for the right moment to give succor,

You are the wind’s touching tale,
The last collapsing shadow releasing the sun
The congealing intensity of winter
Freeing the space between wing and flight.
