Your Words

O you unseen one, let your words
Bring freedom to my body and my mind.
Your world is a festivity of lights
I am only an earthen lamp in its midst
Please light it up
With the flame of your wish
Eternal and bright.
As your spring wind writes songs
In so many colours
On the flowers and foliage all around
You fill the core of my being with your breath
Filling its emptiness
With the blessings of your music
Helping it with your benign hand
To cross all hurdles.

Translation of the devotional song – Arup tomar bani/ange amar chitte amar mukti dik se ani by Rabindranath Tagore. Best recording of this song is by Hemanta Mukherji. The original is with its swaralipi or notation at http://www.rabindra-rachanabali.nltr.org/node/3707.
