Theme: Marriage

Epithalamium

To each of us his share of life to live;
And this much from my childhood days I've done:
I've played with toys, and read the books, and won
And lost; and grown to take less, more to give.
My heart has been my guide; God will forgive
The errors I have made; the very sun,
the stars at night, so accurate to run
As my life's course, its destiny achieve.
And here is where I feel these things are heard
That you appear in every thought and scheme:
More thrilling so, the actual sight and word!
The vision of our life together seem
As the eternal present; all preferred
What love considers right, and marriage deem.
