My Best Friends

When my heart softly rings
I hear the doom gong,
When my poor heart tries to sing
I cannot hear the song!

And I know that just because I
Couldn't learn the new trends...
Its me only so lonely
When all have got best friends.

But then, who were they...
Who were they who soothed me
When I broke into tears?
Who were they who showed me to the front
When I had shrunk to the rears?

Oh my! I didn't realise I too had best friends,
And they were my best friends all along!
Oh best friends, my best friends
For you all is the song.
