| There is a Sunday TV program where assembled together in a democratic space that bespeaks the political reality as a level playing field for all faiths and persuasions, are what, for all their congeniality of spirit and easy communication, represent difference in viewpoint, which turn by turn is raised, and without moving from one’s seat, thrust forward and turned backward, having only that effect there as polite.   Each will contend his position is unchanged at the end, will grasp his neighbour’s hand, and as a man applaud the frank discussion; vaguely aware that face to face is life, the political reality of tolerance a higher precept than all the religious belief represented there takes on the bleak appearance of prejudice. |
