The car came to an abrupt halt
An irate driver stepped out
Abused the blind jay-walker
Stepped back into his car and left

A jogger along the causeway
Slowed down near an elderly man
On his morning constitutional
And yelled at him to pick up speed

An obese lad licking two ice creams
Walked gingerly passing a hungry kid
Ignoring his outstretched hand and
Told him to go try his luck elsewhere

A stylishly dressed business woman
Crossed the street to enter her office
Turning up her haughty nose as she
Passed a shabbily attired poor student

Many thoughts crossed my pained mind
Wealth and education had not helped
To make these spoilt children of Abraham
A little more humane with the less fortunate
