Magic Word

  The other day
not finding a word
in an updated dictionary.com,
I picked up a lexicon
a gift by a stranger;
it had a lovely get up,
a slim eye-catching booklet
in a light blue jacket...

Eager to leaf through it,
I was taken aback
to see on every page
just one alphabet
in different colours
and in different fonts;
I failed to understand
why only L just one alphabet!

Surprize still to come,
there is no other word
except just one —
Love, love and love!!

'What is this lexicon',
I got up with a start
to ask my father -
early morning he has gone out,
mother got scared, rushed in and asked,
Are you dreaming? It is morning,
get up.'

'Oh, my god! it was all in a dream -
dictionary with one letter and one word;
who has so diligently compiled?
Coming mother', I rubbed my eyes and smiled.
