You say you are a writer, reporter, analyst,
And pride yourself
In representing the world the way it is.

You sing of love, chant of death, or expose a trick,
But you have a preconceived map in mind,
A line of flight.

You do not signify reality but change,
You want to use a persuasive vocabulary
To establish events and procedures.

You are desperate to act upon the world,
To destabilize it,
Alter things.

You ardently publicize your text
And believe that the future
Will be better than the past.
