Disenchantment?

She walked that extra mile
Climbed that crooked stile
Waited a very long while
To celebrate love in style

But he was always indecisive
Sometimes even dismissive
When she appeared inquisitive
Love for them was inconclusive

Disenchanted she cursed her fate
And forgot about her elusive date
But he believed it was never too late
He'd find someone new at his gate
