Veiled Numbness

The other partner in a married persona’s life
Is what it takes when youngness has moved away?
Rise in realization
Health instability walks in
Too late to walk out
Left alone to introspect aloneness
While the married one sits back
Revels in achievements
Fear of folks’ nagging questioning
Feigns expressive addiction
And lives in constant fright the other’s revelation
While one is alone yet not lonely
The other is drawn within
Amidst inexpressible guilt left lonely
One copes the other crumbles
Life is what one makes of it
