One Cold Winter Night

Shivering from cold
and a lot of frustration
he lit a huge bonfire
his reasons were two-fold
to keep himself warm
and to consign his dreams
into the dark red flames
he wished to see them
burnt to a cinder rather
than fret and fume over
his inability to convert
them into reality
as the flames rose higher
his face bacame redder
the moisture in his eyes
did evaporate along with
the unrealised dreams
as he meant them to
