Strange, Strange World...

In this strange, strange world
the rich wants to be richer
and gatecrash into the Forbes
latest list of billionaire,
the pretty things
wish to look prettier,
they hesitate never
to go under the knife
to sharpen their comely figure...

Politicos are a different species,
once in power wish to have tight security;
the country becomes solely their gold mine!
The morning bells in the shrines
are a cause for deep concern,
for late risers, it is more a noise than divine...

The world has no place
for the pavement dwellers,
and for those who go often hungry;
none tries to shortlist them
for they are strangers
in this strange, strange world;
they form the favourite themes
for the upcoming writers and film makers
who are on the doorsteps of fame,
and eagerly look forward
for international acclaim and awards!

Comment Yes, Ruparadha, you are very true. The world, though very beautiful, has been handicapped by such contrasts. Thank you.
