A Tale

A young woman
Steeped in despair
Buried under fear
Unable to face the
Cruel, ugly world
Had retracted into
A thick shell hidden
From all humanity
Her family worried
Not knowing how to
Extricate her from
Her deep sadness

On hearing about
Her plight a youth
Came on the scene
Like a knight in
Shining armour
He did reach out
To her by striking
The right notes on
His violin -enticed
By the music she
Emerged slowly from
Her shell determined
Never to return there
