A Shot-through Valentine

  Merry-go-round twirl a day
Whirly-a-gig too many to pay
Rope-a-dope drugs on display
Wish-the-Pope a Christmas play

Skip-a-do the mind's been foxed
Invite the fool who wants a botox
Wrap-around, bring no children to harm
Mr Picador! he lassoed your charm

Evening's glow, so intense the pain
Blow for love you're better off slain
Feel the twitch betwixt heaven and earth
A forced pipe, a lost delight of sensual flight

Morning's glare, the heart's a disobedient flare
She's not there, a Rastafarian's dream made bare
I wonder why this time of year, Purple hearts disappear?
My Valentine's here, but who's she with, the mirage not clear.
