Theme: Enigma

An Enigma

She tossed her head
with firm resolve
and calmly declared
"an enigma I have been
and an enigma I will be,
please stop trying to
understand me"

No one deciphered
the intent behind
her obsession with self
for that was what they
thought her actions
reflected, none figured out
her attitude at all.

Perhaps she did not
either - all she wanted
was to be different  -
she enjoyed creating
this aura of mystery
around herself to draw
everyone's attention.

It did not matter
whether or not she
had succeeded
in impressing the rest
it was important
that she had the best
impression of herself
