That everything is built on certainty
conceptualises it, gives it perspective
and meaning: we are talking here of life,
of faces, symbols of eternity
even now: each focused on a verity
substantive, giving it repose, as if
prophetic; man and beast alike perceptive
in the same act of continuity
that nature, manufacture, evidence
as one resolving out of concept to
reality - that's in the concept only!
The world perceived provides a reference,
and that uncertain, but which certainly
accounts for much, accounts for what we do. |
