Theme: Social

Man and An Ism

What ism is worth anything
if to establish it blood had to be shed?
Isms are nothing but some thoughts
in some peoples minds,
deductively arrived at
with some premises as given initial conditions.
An ism may fall through
with one or more altered premises.

Humans in an effort to establish a particular ism
as a panacea, have killed, maimed, tortured
thousands and millions throughout history.

Over a period of time all isms fail
as human march will over-run cities and settlements,
as a cascading stream will wash away everything in its path.
Is it then legitimitate to even torture one person
to prove any ism.

It is better then to allow any ism to gell
and wait for its time on earth
to oil the machinery of society.

Don't even torture a single person
for the sake of any ism.

Any ism should serve mankind,
no man should ever serve an ism.

Comment Reminds Tagore's cryptic remark- "Of all the religious opinions on earth we get the "opinions" sans "religion"
