In the showers of love, trust and respect
You remain un-soaked Like the sun
To draw a rainbow in the sky;
We bathe in sprinkles of colours
To pluck flowers
For bouquet of life.
In your garden
Thorns are lessons
To endure punch of life.
Leaves are chapters
Of values
To dignify a degree .
Thousands bow and bend
You simply pull them together
Pull them erect
Like a trunk of spirit.
We trek and mount
Mountains of success
For greenery in life.
May I wash your feet this day
With my own waters of tears
As everything else is yours--
The silver container,
The purified water inside,
Even the golden hands of my wife.

(On the occasion of Teacher’s Day)
