Why It is Good Not to Retort

It is good not to retort,
if we can,
for retort we resort to
when we are hurt.

When we retort
we loose an opportunity
to be magnanimous.

Hurt is like a relay.
We kind of pass on the baton.
Or, shall we say,
it is like a chain reaction
of non-tolerance.

Many know how dangerous it can be
when a platoon of troops march in unision on a bridge.

Intolerance is like that.
The cumulative effect is chaos
we see in society
from time to time.

Never mind though.
If we are not consciously practising the tenet of no-retort,
a Mahavir, a Buddha, a Christ
will surely descent on the earth
and cleanse the system from time to time.

But why wait?
Let us try it out ourselves
and experience the bliss!
