  Will you ever say,
will I ever know
what it is?

Away from the words, the prizes,
the praises and damnation
From fear and faith and hopeless hope
of finding it one day.

Through all that others say - Try
yet, none they ever touched
Out of fear itself
of trying the wrong way and getting nowhere.

Then you berate.....angry, vicious.
Your own failures - a battlefield that shoots corpses
to put out the last possible flicker of a miracle.....

"Then live!" You curse.
"And crawl and suffer through it all
And then let's see
if you could find it one bit!"

Perhaps I accept. But not because I believe.
No, just bored and thus move on.
Till my weary, cold feet make me come back and ask-

Will you ever love?
Will you ever let me?
