That Afternoon...

by Dr. Kumarendra Mallick |

I clearly remember that afternoon
when a spark gave me a frightful delight,
without any notice to my misty dream
marched in joy, thrill and anxiety
The ripples of dreams soon arose
and grew into turbulent tides to overflow
the brim of my heart that was asleep till then,
my attempts to remain calm was in vain.
The rivulet started to flow into your heart,
now I wonder did you anticipate
the flashflood on that afternoon
to keep open the sluice gate
Life, I surmise, is an amazing poem,
without any rhyme and reason
there is always a rhythm
For love to blossom is there any season!
