Visited the churches, visited the holy wells,
brimmed with penance hard to show,
heard the preachings, heard the bells,
a stiffle defiance deep below...
Ardent to quaff the goblet of gospel,
taste the knowledge: sweet, mellow.

The blue sapphire on
His crown and shells,
the blue sapphire on His toe...
fills the light of love and praise
fills it all with a single blow,
alliance, life, bliss is all it tells...
melts the ice and turns it snow.
