Confessing a Miracle of Release

Choose your cages,
Gilded or otherwise,
And withdraw into shadows,
 
Enter the catacombs of events
Mulling over a belief,
A lapse or an apostasy,
 
Record your contrition
In the form of a confession
In the flux of archetypal vocabulary,
 
Then expose your soul to public gaze
In the tradition of St. Augustine or Rousseau
And hope for a miracle of release!
