Ganga jal in copper alembic

From the dev bhoomi

Is an inscrutable thing:

It must purify,

It must cleanse,

It must satisfy,

Not only in this lifetime

But in all previous lifetimes

And lifetimes to come!

Ganga water is kept in copper pots (kalash) surrounded by red-and-white cotton threads, mango leaves, and coconut. The water is used in purification pujas such as gharpravesh, wedding and daily worship.
