There’s two of us in every one of us,
person of achievement we all become
when deep into our hearts and minds we dwell,
creating something in a common cause,
with urgency binding on us to tell
or do, nor can we rest until it’s done.
The other one of us stands by it seems,
expends the major portion of our time,
feeble and erring, even inadequate,
prone to selfish interests, as though we play
a part-time role in life, to calculate
our relevance in view of the sublime.
