Adieu

  Your final adieu-
Ensconced in
A shimmering veil of tears.

My feelings...
Red drops oozing from
A lacerated wound.

My hopes...
Like millions of tiny pebbles
Scattered on the beach
Waiting for the tide
Of your love
To assuage the hurt.

My need...
Lost in the conundrum
Of morality.

My love a tiny
Blade of grass
Trampled beneath
The heels of reality.

Your final adieu
Leaving me unfulfilled
Like a melody unsung.
